Richardson lies just outside of the LBJ Freeway between Dallas to the south and Plano to the north. An older, affluent inner suburb of Dallas, Richardson has been home to many high-tech companies as well as the University of Texas at Dallas. At 28 square miles, Richardson is the size of Prosper. It's population was just over 100,000 in 2011 and was ranked the 15th best place to live in the U.S. by Money Magazine. Business Week also ranked Richardson #2 in Texas for the "Best Places to Raise Kids."
Richardson students attend either the Richardson Independent School District or to Plano Independent School District (Collin County).
